New Spiritually Weak Label: Not Using Tablet/iPhone
by Doubtfully Yours inwith last night's meeting it became official: here in the states is a must to keep up with 'jehovah's org' that one fully jumps on board with this tablet/iphone crap.. so, now, all of us that up to this point have refused to follow the wtbts in their electronic/wireless revolution will deal with the browbeating from the 'spiritual' ones.. already receiving lots of grief from hubby and rest of the family/close friends when seen at the meetings with paper publications.
damn it!!!
am i alone in this resistance???!!!.

It's all about the money. All of the savings from not publishing can be put towards the ghost kingdom halls being built somewhere. -

The thing that bothers me the most is the mother of the JW girl would encourage a secret Bible study with the little girl with two mommies to learn the ways of God. Then the little girl can get baptized and have the duty to shun her two mommies who have fed her, clothed her, took care of her when she was sick and love her. The shunning I am sure who would motivate the two mommies to study to be slaves of the Watchtower. (there are experiences where the witlesses encourage bible studies with children without their parents knowledge.)
The Witchtower Bable and Trick Society has broken up so many families that if there were a paradise earth, God would not want them there.

I liked in John's blog how he was dictating letters that were sent to the Kingdom Halls to answer weighty questions that the body of elders struggled with and needed guidance from the Borg. Now the answer comes from a young Bethelite maybe half or one third the age of the men who needed guidance from God's organization. Back in the late 60's I viewed these letters from the Borg as almost being written by God. I am a little disappointed that John Bechtel may have written them instead of an older man with gray hair anointed with holy spirit. Based upon John's writing skills, his answers would have better anyhow.

Elderess,
I am very happy for you! What I love about all of the folks on JWD is the ability to talk about our fears, our dashed dreams, our anger, and facing our mortality ( I wasn't supposed to finish high school 53 years ago) without the fear of being hauled to the back room at the KH, or hearing "we would like to stop by after the meeting Sunday," or being looked as being fringe witnesses. Once you cross that bridge there is no turning back to how it used to be. Hang in there.

Just a thought from the blog. If the Governing Body voted to make a collective decision, why would God inspire them to have differences in opinion? -

His sucess is proof there can be a good life beyond the walls of the Witchtower Babel and Trick Sobriety. He put his writing skills to good use.

Nathan,
I don't have the answer to your question. Maybe someone else knows.

I am reading more of his blog. It feels like I am pulling back the curtains on the Wizard of Oz. I wish that JW's weren't so afraid to look at our forum. If they have the Truth why not defend it? When I was as elder I looked for good Bible debates with preachers and I used their tracts as talking points. So much has changed. Back to John's blog.

THE LINGERING SHADOW OF '75
by Terry innone of you are old enough to have been there, i suspect.
i had been in prison two years as a jw conscientious objector when the exciting news about 1975 spread like wildfire.i was paroled from prison in 1969 and immediately began pioneering.
the pressures began mounting throughout the organization.

The excuse immediately after October 1975 was when was Eve created? If Eve was created 6 months after Adam's creation that would put us into 1976. Perhaps Eve was created a year after Adam? The Eve BS died out in about 8 months. -

While doing some research, I stumbled upon a blog written by a former Bethelite. His name is John Bechtel. The blog is several years old. Once I started reading it I couldn't stop. I guess what goes on at Bethel doesn't stay at Bethel. He was one of Bethel's young rising stars and his experiences as a young Witness were both funny and sad. Climbing the ladder at Bethel, he ended up on the Writing Committee. No doubt some of the spiritual food that we received in the 70's, which I assumed were almost like direct dictation from God himself, were written by John. He certainly believed and practiced carpe diem during his stint at Bethel. I found his early childhood experience as a JW to be fascinating because I too had my childhood taken away from me because my mother answered the door one Saturday morning and gave one thin dime to an old 70 year old Witness for the Watchtower and Awake in the late 50's.
I would like to post a link to his blog. Here it is: http://www.johnbechtelblog.com. To start at the beginning of the blog you have to go to the right had side under "Archives July 2009" and go to the bottom of the page. After doing some digging, I was able to find his contact information on another website http://www.greatplainsdrifter.com. It appears John, after leaving the Truthâ„¢, has had a successful life.
I would imagine that there are many on this forum who remember him from Bethel.
